Access
The API is currently fully open - no key or signup required. This may change in the future (e.g. rate-limited keys) if usage patterns make that necessary. Check /docs for the current state of things.
Acceptable use
You may use the API and dataset for research, tooling, community projects, dashboards, bots, and similar personal or non-commercial purposes. You may not:
- Use the data to target, attack, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to any server listed in the dataset.
- Resell or redistribute the raw dataset wholesale as a competing product.
- Send a volume of requests intended to degrade the API for other users, or automate requests far beyond what your use case reasonably needs.
- Use the API to build tooling whose primary purpose is harassment, doxxing, or targeting specific players or server operators.
- Misrepresent data from the API as coming from an official Mojang/Microsoft source.
No warranty
The API and dataset are provided as-is, without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or uptime. Server status, player counts, and auth-mode data reflect a point-in-time check and can be stale or wrong. Don't build anything safety-critical on top of it.
Changes
These terms may change as the project grows (e.g. if we introduce API keys or rate limits). Continued use of the API after a change means you accept the updated terms. Nothing here overrides our Legal & Compliance page.

We may revoke access, block IPs, or take other action against anyone violating these terms. See security.txt for how to report abuse.
